HS Leadership Program

The High School Leadership Program (HSLP) is a comprehensive peer-mentoring program and toolkit designed by TestPilot Consulting. We provide nonprofits, schools, and community organizations with everything they need to plan, launch, and evaluate their programming. Our research-informed and practitioner-tested curriculum provides mentoring pairs and staff with engaging, hands-on activities that reinforce academic, social, and emotional learning. Organizations need the knowledge, tools, and confidence to launch and sustain a new program. With our extensive toolkit of resources, customized support, and access to a rich network of program leaders, you won’t be alone in the process!

In February, 2024 we completed an evaluation of our HSLP program within Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Click here to learn more about the impact we’re having.

This program has really helped me feel sure in my decision of what I’d like to do after high school.
— Thalia, 16-year-old mentor
Students are able to have positive interactions with students that are older, gain perspective on what their future in school could look like, and engage in community building.
— Mei-ling, elementary school teacher

Hear from our participants:

I learned great communication with littles which is going to help with my career with EMT. It has shown me patience with others and has given me the idea of youth help in the future.
— Kayden, 17-year-old mentor
My students come every week to school happy and ready to see their bigs which has made an improvement in their attendance. Some of my students have broken homes or are only children so I feel that this program has helped them feel welcomed, loved and supported. Lastly, I feel like this program has helped my students learn many social skills that I have seen transferred to the classroom.
— Valerie, elementary school teacher
Students are able to be positive role models for their littles. Bigs are able to give back to others in the community and push themselves to do something they may have originally felt uncomfortable with.
— Tymesia, HS social worker
